The March tournament at Altorreal was attended by 26 members of whom 2 sportingly volunteered to walk the course due to lack of buggies, much to the relief of most of the more senior members who knew they would have struggled to make the 19th hole.
With the tee off at 10am, with 10 minutes to go we were waiting for our Chairman/President who somehow got lost in Murcia and arrived in a very harassed condition and did not even have time for a coffee before teeing off.
It was a very challenging game for most of the society with the Stapleford scores mainly in the 20's.
Nearest the Pin was won by Bob Busby, but with a score of 32 points in the Stapleford competition.
3rd place went to Dave White.
2nd with a score of 33 points was Stuart Boocock.
Congratulations to Brian Mc.Allister (see photo) for an excellent round to secure first place on this very good but difficult course with a brilliant score of 37 points.
The May competition will be at La Serena on Wednesday 24th May. Meet 8.30am for tee off at 9.30am. Please sign up early for this venue to enable the Secretary to order enough Buggies.
