Green Igloo Award

6 municipalities of the Region participating in the campaign and San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar, Cartagena, Los Alcazares, Aguilas and Mazarrón, have achieved the award for having exceeded the goal by recycling 1,604,000 kilograms of glass during July and August, 20% more than in the same period of the previous year .

Work will start in December on a roundabout at the entrance to the new Sports Stadium in Puerto de Mazarrón, improving the access.
Copa del Rey (King's Cup) for Watersport
This Spanish Championship was held on 29th/30th October at Playa de la Isla.

Kevin Moreno was proclaimed champion of Spain in the Jet Ski category. On the Saturday there were 24 races in various categories with more on the Sunday.

Mazarrón's Green Road

The 14-kilometre stretch from Mazarrón to La Pinilla will allow the development of cycling and other sporting activities. It is along a disused railway track. There will be greenway signposting, protective railings and about 2,000 trees planted. It will be operational in early 2017 at a cost of about 300,000€.
