Paraglider Killed on Mazarrón Beach

A 62 year old man from Fuente Alamo plummeted to his death onto La Emita Beach in Mazarrón after a motor failed in his paragliding apparatus.

Although he landed on soft sand, he fell from 50 metres and would have died almost immediately.

Mazarrón Town & Sun Market Puerto de Mazarrón

Mazarrón Town Hall and three local driving schools have agreed to lower the price of the driving licence to unemployed and women victims of gender violence.

They are offering this to 60 people: 20 places for youths enrolled in Youth Guarantee places, 20 places for users of the Employment Agency and 20 places for people at risk of social exclusion (Women Victims of Domestic Violence). For conditions and more information contact Mazarrón Ayuntamiento. The agreement is from January 2nd - December 1st 2017. The purpose is to promote mobility and improve the chances of employment.

Sports Education Programme In Schools

Students in 6th & 4th grade will receive theoretical and practical training sailing, paddle surfing and kayaking. This programme will reach almost a thousand schoolchildren in the region during June.

The project begins with teacher training centres in the Sailing School, then monitors in schools and colleges will give a theoretical class which will teach sailing and water sports to the students. In the third phase, the school will enjoy two days practical experience in the water.
