There are more fiestas to celebrate in the area this month:
Balsapintada: 21st -30th July

The fiesta is in honour of St Santiago. The small village of Balsapintada holds a 10 day fiesta each July in honour of its patrón Saint Santiago Apóstol. Days and nights are filled with activities, music, dance, parades, paellas, and the streets come alive. All activities and concerts are free and all the village participates in the extensive programme of events organised by the elected Commission each year. It ends with a parade with floats, a band and the traditional firework display.

XXII Festival de Flamenco de San Pedro del Pinatar – Saturday 8th July at 10.30pm at the Parque de la Aduana in San Pedro del Pinatar.
20€ entry fee if paid online and 22€ at the door. Tickets can be purchased at El Corte Inglés, the Tourist Information Office and the Cultural Centre in San Pedro del Pintatar.

This Flamenco Show is cited as being one of the most notable in Spain and many of the top Flamenco artistes meet in the Murcia region at this time.

Sunday 9th July - Free 4km Evening Walk – Posidonia Oceanica
Leave from car park at Playa de las Salinas 6.30pm. This walk should take about 2hrs. Pre-booking at Tourist Office essential.

San Pedro del Pinatar and Lo Pagán - 12th -16th July Fiestas de la Virgin del Carmen
Virgin del Carmen is the patron saint of fishermen and this fiesta celebrates and requests her continued protection for the fishing villages and the fishermen. There will be various activities, music, dance, and a firework display. This fiesta attracts thousands of people and the local fisherman hold a ceremony out at sea with the figure of the Virgin being carried in a fishing boat. Many people follow out in boats and a beautiful parade of boats ensues. Whilst at sea carnations are thrown to commemorate all those who have been lost at sea.

Friday 21st July – 3hr Free Evening Guided Tour Through the Salinas Salt Flats – 8pm from Molino de Quintin. Pre-booking at Tourist Office essential.

Friday 28th July - 3hr Free Photographic Route In The Salinas Salt Flats – 6.30pm from Rotonda Flamencos. Booking essential at Tourist Office. Wear sturdy shoes. This is for over 18's only and make sure you take a digital camera!

Torre Pacecho, Roldan, Lo Ferro Flamenco Festival - 24th July-30th July
This festival started in 1980 in Lo Ferro, beside Roldan. It is dedicated to the great Flamenco artistes like 'Camarón de la Isla' and 'Perlita de Huelva'.

Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd July – Geocaching Treasure Hunt
Saturday - 5.30pm outside Tourist Office. The evening events continue until 10.30pm.
Sunday – start with breakfast at 9.30am. Various workshops during the morning until 2.30pm when the presentation of the Photography Competition takes place.
