Property sales up – Prices up and buyers are here in force!
Having just experienced the busiest 6 weeks since 2007, we are also seeing a huge increase in forward viewing appointments right through the summer!
As we enter what is traditionally the busiest sales period of the year, there is every reason to be optimistic should you be planning to sell your Spanish property this summer. There are many potential buyers already here in the Costa Cálida and Murcia region on viewing/buying trips and a large increase in rentals for prospective cash buyers who are staying in the area ready to pounce on that ideal property bargain.
Our office has also welcomed a big increase in visitors literally just walking in unannounced – this is great to see and causes quite a buzz of motivation for all concerned.
Without exception, all the major Spanish property statistics organisations are recording increased sales of new and resale properties, mortgage approvals and building permits. This has been the case for the past 4 years and although some commentators are predicting a new housing bubble, the steady increases are markedly different from those heady days before the crash of 2008. I regularly speak to colleagues in all parts of our region from inland Murcia to the Mar Menor and Aguilas, who all share the same experiences and optimism as ourselves.
With so many positives to report, I must stress that if you are considering selling your property in the near future, now is definitely the time to act, to capitalise on the increased sales activity of the next 4-5 months. With the UK pound on a bounce after the announcement of a General Election in June and already pushing through the 1.20€ barrier, there has been no better time this year to make your move.
