Sunday 2nd – Free Guided Tour of Bullas c. 1900, in Spanish, (often guides do speak some English) coincides with the monthly El Zacatín Artisan Market. 11am/12pm/1pm – it's best to pre-book via the Tourist Office. Tickets can be collected from the tourist info point in the market place 15 mins before departure, or there may be availability on the day.

Saturday 1st – Art Exhibition open through to November 2017: The Glory of the Renaissance features renowned artwork from the Prado Museum. Contact the tourist office for more information.

Saturday 1st – Annual Free Concert by the Agrupación musical Caravaca de la Cruz starts at 10pm within the castle walls of the Basilica. The tourist train runs from 9.15pm from the Plaza del Arco to get you up the steep route if needed.
Monday 3rd - La Voz de la Cruz, Vox in Crucem, features a series of Classical Music in both Caravaca and Murcia to promote the cultural and historical heritage of our region. Contact the tourist office for more info.

Sunday 16th – Free Guided Tour of the historical quarter in Spanish (English info boards abound) starts from Castle and Basilica at 11.15am and lasts about 1.5 hours. Guides often speak English and leaflets in English also available. Pre-book via the tourist office and for parking and directions info.

The first week of July kicks off with fiestas in honour of St John the Baptist – look forward to live music, concerts and a fair.
The Archaeological See of Begastri is opened for tours on Saturdays and Sundays at 10.10am/11.15am/12.20pm - 2€ pp. The tour begins with a video presentation followed by a guided tour to see the remains of the Iberian culture before the IV century BC. A guided tour in English will on demand.

Sunday 16th – Guided Tour in English - 10.10am - 2€ pp. No need to book.

The Eco Park (Tourism Activity Park) 'Coto de las Maravillas' has activities for all the family with a choice of paintballing, horse riding, an assault course, a Quidditch pitch as well as much more for all ages. Saturdays and Sundays during July – Visit Castillo Fortaleza of Moratalla – 10.30am-2pm and 4.30pm-6pm – 2€ entry – book at Tourist Office. Monday-Friday by pre-arrangement. Evenings 6pm-8.30pm.

Budding musicians and songwriters take note! Moratalla is hosting an amateur music contest Moratalla Under The Stars in August, but you have to get your application in for consideration by 17th July. Application form and rules are available from the Town Hall and the prizes are worth winning.

Urban art works by 85 renowned graffiti artists from around the world including Spain. Tues-Fri 10am-2pm & 5pm-8pm; Saturday 11am-2pm & 5pm-8pm; Sundays and public holidays 11am-2pm.

Art Exhibition @ The Palacio Almudi until 16th July
A collection of artwork dedicated to Murcian and European artists of the 20th century; part of the collection of the Obra Social de Caja Mediterraneo.

Saturday 8th – Murcia Clásica Free Guided Tour (in Spanish) showcasing the rich history and heritage of the city centre. The Tourist Office has maps and some leaflets in English – it's an excellent way to explore for future return visits. 10.30am from Tourist Office in Plaza de Belluga, on to the Cathedral, the Palacio Episcopal, Plaza de los Apóstoles, Museo de San Juan de Dios, Plaza de la Cruz, the Casino, Calle Trapería, Plaza de Santo Domingo and concludes in the Plaza de Romea, where the theatre is located. Pre-booking essential at Tourist Office.

Saturday 8th – 3rd "Moon Bike" Season continues for 2017. 10km-15km with no steep climbs. Start at Glorieta de Espana (in front of Murcia Town Hall) by the River Segura at 8.30pm. No pre-registration is required. Cycles should have adequate lighting and bell and you should wear light coloured, or reflective, clothing. Cycle helmet must be worn in urban areas. Those under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Municipal bikes are available on 968 200 293. Adjustments to your bike are available if you arrive an hour before the start. Tourist Office has a full list of routes and start times for this season. No ride in August.
