Northwest Murcia News September 2016

Liquid Nitrogen Leak from Molina de Segura Industrial Estate

Firefighters managed to avert a catastrophe in Molina de Segura when they stemmed a leak from a liquid nitrogen Factory on the Molina de Segua Industrial Estate on 15th August. Liquid nitrogen is used in 'legal high' drugs such as those used to eradicate verrucas.

The liquid nitrogen froze when it came into contact with the air and created a layer of ice which plugged a safety valve. The fire fighters managed to reduce the pressure in the tank to stop it leaking.
