Autumn is on its way.
As always August has been a much quieter month in Mazarrón Bowls Club, with no competitions as many members had visitors or had returned to the UK for the summer.
The heat wave during July and August took its toll on some members. However, during August there was a good turnout for the evening 'roll-ups' on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The members found it was quite a novelty bowling across the rink to try and prolong the life of the bowls mat.
A Garden Party for members and their friends was held in August at Barbara and Gordon Tottey's house on Camposol D. Harry Male, was Master of Ceremonies and supplied the Music and Quiz. A good time was had by all and many thanks to Barbara and Gordon.
The hotly contested Club Championships start in September and, following the return to morning 'roll-ups', there will be a Fun Competition followed by a BBQ for members, organized by Colin Appleton.
Later in the month the Annual Mazarrón Trophy will be played.
Two bowls members, Brian and Sheila Robertson, celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in Scotland on 12th August. A celebratory dinner was held at Brian and Sheila's bowls club in Scotland.
