The Mazarrón Bahia Alpha Leos spent the majority of the last month finalising their preparations for this year's Camposol Fiesta.
The Fiesta marked the return of the land train to Camposol! The daytime CompuTrain was sponsored by Julie Townsend & Chris Jennings of Compusurf who kindly donated all takings to the Leos Community Projects Fund – our thanks and a big #leoroar for their continued support.
During the Fiesta, Club Members ran or assisted in a total of 20 different activities over the weekend for which they made a grand total of 28 signs! In addition to running their daytime stall activities, plus the evening Chill Out Area & Children's Train Ride, the Leos assisted in the set-up of the Camposol B evening area prior to the event & litter-picked the Fiesta A Sector daytime area at the end of each morning.
Our dear friend Jane Taylor came to the Leos in early Spring this year asking for an increase in children's events & activities throughout the Fiesta weekend & together with the support of Jackie Drewe & Sue Tinkler of the Fiesta Committee plus our good friend Colin Thackwell of Forget Me Not the Leos did everything possible to honour her wish – a huge #leoroar goes out to Jackie, Sue & Colin plus the members of the Los Palacios Gardening Group who helped the Leos weed the area for the Under 12's Treasure Hunt, also to D Sector Gardening Group & the other volunteers who helped us set up the various Leo areas & finally to the Leos Parents Committee & Leo family members who helped to run the many day & evening activities.
September sees the end of the long school summer break & Leo Club Members will have a quieter month as they prepare to return to their studies. The new school year will not only see some of the younger Leos entering ESO (Secondary), but also a few of the older & long standing Leos will be changing schools as they enter Bachillerato (6th Form) or take up other further education courses. We wish these Club Members all the very best in their chosen career paths.
