It is with the greatest regret that we have to announce that our new President, Alan Aldrich has unexpectedly passed away after a short illness. Alan was a very prominent and popular member of the Lions for 9 years and his wife Janice is also a member.
Alan had several plans for fundraising in his year as President and we as a club will do our best to see that his hopes and plans for the year can be realised. His duties will be carried out by our Vice President, Tom Harrison and retiring President Andrew Brown.
Many of you will remember Alan from our Friday Table Top Stall. He often sounded like the perfect market trader and had many customers leaving with a huge smile on their faces; a real friend to everyone. He really will be sadly missed by all the Lions and our supporters.
In order to carry on the Table Top Stall as Alan would like, we really do need more items to sell. Please contact us on 968 956 410 if you have any items that you no longer need and we can arrange collection. All items sold go towards what Lions do best; Helping Those In Need.
We are looking forward to 14th September when we have the annual Lions Garden Party. Please ring 605 112 205 for your ticket. Places are limited so please buy your ticket early.
We are also having a Race Night at Mariano's, Camposol A on 21st September. The 8€ entry includes a chicken & chips supper. Come and join us for what promises to be a fun filled evening. This is NOT BIG SCREEN horse racing. You can own a horse, appoint your own jockey and bet on your own horse. It is really good fun!!!! Tickets will be available from our Table Top Stall outside Oscar's, Camposol B on Friday mornings or by ringing 622 467 497
On November 3rd we have an event with a difference. Come and join us at Mariano's, Camposol A for an evening with hypnotist Ed Temples. Again tickets available from our Friday Table Top Stall.
If you would like to join us, just come along and participate in one of our monthly meetings (1st Monday of the month at Cat's Bar, Camposol A) and you can find out first-hand how YOU can make a difference!
