Forget me Not August 2017

Here at Forget Me Not we have welcomed two new people to our group.

forget me not singalongWe are always happy to see new faces and to know that the message is getting through that Forget Me Not is here to give respite to those people that are caring for a loved one with dementia or any long-term illnesses or conditions. Just talking can be a big help and a comfort.

forget me not group photoWe all enjoy our Monday meetings and try to vary our activities according to the weather. Last month we had the pleasure of a local group of friends joining us; they call themselves the Sing Along Group. We were given song sheets printed with many of our old favourite tunes and we all joined in with a real good old singsong. It was uplifting to see most of our clients joining in and remembering all the words. Thank you to the group for coming along to Forget Me Not. We look forward to seeing you all again later in the year.
In early July, we had our own little party to celebrate the 4th of July with hot dogs, key lime pie and the appropriate music for the occasion. It was too hot to jitterbug, but a great time was had by all!

Our fund raising as usual is ongoing – a big thank you to Paula Klages and her Casual Art Club who donated 76€ from their coffee/tea tin. Thank you for always thinking of us Paula.

Another popular fund raiser of Forget Me Not are our monthly jumble sales, which are held on the first Saturday of each month at the Cultural Centre on Camposol B from 10.30am-1pm. Entry is free to all, with tea/coffee and biscuits available at a small charge.
If you have any bric-a-brac or small household items that you longer require, please could you drop them into the centre on any Monday from 10.30am-1.30pm, or bring them along to the sale.
There will be no Jumble Sale during August, but we will resume on Saturday 2nd September. Thank you to all of you who have attended our sales, or have donated goods in the past. We really do appreciate your ongoing generosity.

If you would like more information about Forget Me Not, please feel free to pop in to the Cultural Centre on any Monday 10.30am-1.30pm. Our qualified nurses are always here to give advice about the respite care that we offer.

Forget Me Not is a registered charity and we offer a free service covered by donations and fundraising.
