It's Holiday Time once more and, when they donate to our bucket, our holiday home-owners say they've noticed a marked difference since their last visit.
Huge thanks to all who give to our bucket collection (which had yet another new record amount this month!) and those who donate unwanted pots and plants plus much-needed drinks offered to our Maintenance Team workers, despite the fact we may have woken some of them! Apologies; our team begins sweeping, spraying and cleaning an hour earlier on Mondays during Summer because of the relentless heat and humidity: it's hard to clean streets silently!
This month our Wednesday Volunteers have trimmed palms along the Rambla Road, weeded and watered (both extensively!), planted 5 new mature trees, plus more new planters along the dual carriageway and sprayed its whole length with weed killer, collected roof tiles to be used as edging and spread a massive 28 tons of gravel despite the stifling heat!
A number of our volunteers are currently in the UK and we look forward to their return; their help with our watering burden is missed! If you have any spare time, please give the plants near your casa some water, too; every area is suffering in these high temperatures. May we also politely request that dog owners pick up any mess their pets leave behind? It only takes two minutes to deposit a bag in the bin and will keep the area smell, germ and poo-free - thanks.
Thanks to all who supported our BBQ and Street Party; a fabulous evening and Scott James was excellent!
Tickets are available now at 5€ each, for our Autumn Beetle Drive/Games Night at the Golf Club on 22nd September with the wonderful Carl Thomas 'The Big Welshman'. Please support us as it promises to be another great night!
