The Road To Calasparra ... The Promised Land!
I am Revd Andrew Rea and I want to tell you about new Church of England services on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Sundays in the month at 11am at the Alandalus Bar and Restaurant, Calasparra at the start of the Cañada urbanisation on the way to the Sanctuary, just off the RM714.
A bit of background; my wife Jean and I moved to Calasparra about a year ago to start a Retreat. We sold everything we had, bought a plot of land in Calasparra and moved into a caravan while the Retreat is being built. Once built, the Retreat will be for anyone who needs peace and quiet away from the daily pressures of life.
I have been an Anglican (Church of England) priest for many years and Jean and I felt that, as well as a Retreat, we also wanted to provide a regular place of worship for anyone who wishes to come along - to worship, to share fellowship or who just want to find out about God.
Derek and Lynda Newman contacted us as they were already running services which had started in their home, hence its name "Welcome House". A few months ago the Alandalus very kindly offered them the use of the room next to the bar/restaurant and there has been a service of worship every 1st and 3rd Sunday since.
I then received permission from the Anglican Bishop in Europe to conduct Church of England services under the auspices of the Anglican Chaplaincy of St Peter and St Paul, Torrevieja where I had been conducting services since Jean and I moved to Spain in 2012.
I am available to conduct Funerals, Wedding Blessings, Vow Renewals and Baptisms.
The Revd Andrew Rea
